May Term for nursing students
in Queretaro, Mexico

The Nursing Department co-teaches a course in Queretaro, Mexico for May Term. The course is designed as a Cultural Heritage II course, although students may also take the course for a Spanish elective or to meet the needs of a Spanish minor or major. The course includes 1 week of class on campus followed by 3 weeks in the beautiful city of Queretaro. In Queretaro, students will be learning about historical and recent health care in Mexico while also spending time in hospitals and indigenous clinics in the region (with the opportunity to provide basic nursing care). There are also some planned leisure excursions to nearby towns/villages for students.

To qualify for this trip you will need to meet the following:

  • Required: completion of Spanish level 2 by the May Term
  • Preferred: completion of NURS 210, 222 and 255
