Catherine Mader

Cathy Mader grew up in Colorado. She earned her bachelors degree in engineering physics from the Colorado School of Mines and also earned a masters in applied physics from CSM. She earned her Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics from Michigan State University.

She came to Hope College in the fall of 1993. In addition to teaching physics at Hope, she conducts workshops for teachers and high school students on nuclear science and nuclear forensics.

Since 2011, Cathy has been directing programs to support undergraduate STEM education at Hope, including several scholarship programs, undergraduate research programs and faculty development programs.
