PHYS/ENGS 495 Microwave Engineering and Device Physics
In May 2011 I piloted a new 3 credit course on Microwave Engineering. In May 2012 we will run this successful course again.
|
Students in this course learn the high frequency techniques used in radio frequency and microwave measurement and circuit design. The professional tools and professional software used in this course include:
- Vector network analyzer
- Scalar network analyzer
- Spectrum analyzer
- Microwave signal generators
- Wire bonder
- Photolithography lab
- Agilent Genesys (frequency domain circuit simulator)
- IE3D (electromagnetic field simulator for microstrip circuits)
- HFSS (electromagnetic field simulator for 3D structures)
- Maple (general purpose math software)
