This course provides an introduction
to American political institutions. Topics surveyed include the U.S.
Constitution, parties and elections, Congress and the Presidency, the
impact of interest groups and the media, and public policy debates
on such issues as U.S. foreign policy, social issues, economic policy,
and more.
In the fall of 2008, students
must also register for one of the following labs: POL 100-11, POL 100-12A,
and POL 100-13A.
