This course
examines the fundamentals of the American judicial process, with
an emphasis on courts as political institutions and on the political
forces which shape and determine judicial behavior and legal outcomes.
Special attention is devoted to the criminal justice and civil litigation
systems, and the role of the Supreme Court in American life.
