The European Union

Course Number: POL 295
Credits: 4
Offered: TBA
Instructor:
Overview:

Europeans have radically changed the continent they inherited at the end of World War II. This is especially true politically. This course highlights the political and social developments that have transformed Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands since 1945, placing these (and other countries for which students have an interest) in comparative perspective. Attention will also be paid to communist Eastern Europe until 1989 (particularly Czechoslovakia) and the rising importance of the European Union. This course is cross-listed with History.
