Dr. Annie
Dandavati
Dr. Annie Dandavati has been a member of the political science department faculty since 1992. A native of India, she moved to the United States and earned her Ph.D. from the University of Denver in 1992. Her areas of interest which include comparative politics, Latin American Politics, Gender and Development, and human rights, are reflected in the courses she offers and her academic publications. Her latest work is Engendering Democracy in Chile, published by Peter Lang Press. She has also written many articles and papers for presentation at various conferences and publication. Dr. Dandavati was the recipient of the H.O.P.E. Award in 1997 and was also selected by the graduating class to be Commencement Speaker. She has traveled extensively and offers a variety of courses on international and regional politics as well as gender. She was recently appointed Director of Women’s Studies and continues her current research on the gender and the state in developing areas. Courses
