Political Science Teaching Certification Requirements

Under guidelines of the Michigan Department of Education, candidates for certification to teach political science must pass the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC). Students pursuing this certification in political science can fulfill the requirements through either the standard 36 credit major or a special 24 credit teaching minor.

If you are an interested student, please talk to a member of the faculty about how to best prepare for the MTTC and a career teaching political science.
