Brief Biography
Scott VanderStoep returned to Hope in 1999. For five years he directed
the Frost Research Center. He is department chair until July
2009. The last few years has brought a publication of a book entitled "Learning
to Learn: The Skill and Will of College Success" (with
Paul Pintrich of the University of Michigan and Dede Johnston of Hope's Communications Department). In addition, he edited a book entitled "Science and
the Soul: Christian Faith and Psychological Research." Most recently, he co-authored Research methods for Real Life. He spends
most of his time teaching Developmental Psychology, but occasionally
also teaches Psychology and Religion and First Year Seminar.
