Kings: History of the Kingdoms
The books of Kings trace the history of Israel from its height during the reign of Solomon to its demise by the Babylonians. The seal impression at left is from a seal found at Megiddo dating to the eighth century B.C.E. It belonged to "Shema, servant of Jeroboam." The roaring lion was a symbol of royal power.
