BibliographyEach chapter of Reading the Old Testament contains bibliographic suggestions in its For Further Study section. The following classified bibliography provides general resources for studying the literary, historical, and theological features of the Old Testament. Along the way it also introduces the main kinds of tools that are accessible to students of the biblical text. While sometimes challenging, they generally do not presuppose a knowledge of the Hebrew language. This bibliography does not presume to be exhaustive, but merely indicates departure points for further study.
