The Torah is the first part of the Hebrew Bible and consists of five books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. According to biblical tradition Moses received the Torah on Mount Sinai directly from God. Exodus 34:29 says Moses' face shone when he came down from the mountain. Biblical authorities who study the composition of the Torah suggest that additional writers may have contributed to the final product.
