Professor Husbands' dissertation is entitled "Barth's Ethics of Prayer: A Study in Moral Ontology and Action" and his thesis director was John Webster, Professor of Systematic Theology, Aberdeen.

Professor Husbands' has edited two volumes:
Essays Catholic and Critical, with Philip G. Ziegler (Ashgate: 2002)
Theology and the End of Modernity: Essays in Conversation with Reginald Stackhouse (Toronto: 1996)
