What do you find exciting or interesting about your major?
You cannot find another job where you can mold and support young adults as much as teaching, with the knowledge that every night when I go home I will have helped someone out. I also love working with youth and being someone that they can depend on. |
What are your career plans at this time?
In three years I will graduate from Hope. Then I plan to teach in a rural community and coach football. |
Describe your summer research project.
I have been working with Professor Tim Pennings on various calculus subjects. For May Term, I served as a teacher's assistant in his calculus class and in June continued with calculus two topics through worksheets and solutions. |
What are some of your favorite activities outside of your school work?
I enjoy: being active in my faith, spending time with my family, the outdoors, water sports, the beach, and eveloping an interest in ultimate Frisbee. |
What were some influences on your decision to attend Hope?
I was informed of the S-STEM scholarship, which put a flag in my head. Then a professor from KCC strongly encouraged me to look at Hope. I did and loved it. I was also very impressed by the high levels of academic success and focus on the student. |
