Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival

January 7-11

KCACTF is fast approaching! While many workshops and lectures do not require pre-registration, there are several awards, fellowships, and activities that do! Students who are interested in these should take note of the deadlines of submission:

Nov 1 10 minute play, One-Act Play and Full Length Play submissions end. http://kcactf3.org/playwrights.htm

Nov 15 Design and Technology* submissions end. These include:

National Awards for Design Excellence- Designs for Realized plays

Regional Design Projects- Paper projects from class

Design Storm- a project that student designers, directors and dramaturgs participate during festival

Stage Management Fellowship- for students who have stage managed a production during the calendar year

Allied Design and Technology Award- who have completed major design or technology projects in areas including (but not limited to) makeup, projection, properties, millinery, masks, tech, wigs, scenic art, draping, tailoring, technical direction, puppets, special effects, costume craft, audio engineering, etc. on a play produced during the current festival year- Jan 2013- Dec 2013.

*ANY student interested in entering the design and technology categories must contact Michelle

Devised Theatre- deadline is not until Dec 13- however- registration will be closed after the first 18 participants……this is for students who want to participate in creating a devised piece during the festival. http://kcactf3.org/qbforms/devised_project_participation.htm

Students should ONLY register for individual events and NOT the festival itself or Irene Ryans. Michelle will handle all of these registrations. Sign up for the festival will be in the Theatre Office soon!
