The Philadelphia Center guarantees a meaningful internship, and our placement process helps you find the right one.

Finding your internship

We work with over 900 organizations in and around Philadelphia to help you find an internship that best suits your interests and skill sets.

Finding your ideal internship starts with our placement information survey, as soon as you enroll. Once you arrive in the city, one of our faculty advisors will meet with you for an intake interview, and will assist you in researching our extensive placement database.

Our semester program’s experiential process allows you to interview in person with several organizations to learn:

  • Your role within an organization
  • What learning opportunities are available
  • Which company or organization would best suit you
  • Who your potential supervisor is

Summer program

Students will participate in phone or video interviews with several organizations. With over 800 available placement options, you'll work approximately 32–36 hours per week.

During your internship

Our faculty advisors help ensure you enjoy a positive learning experience. You will:

  • Develop an individualized learning plan
  • Concentrate on key knowledge and skill areas
  • Produce a professional portfolio
  • Participate in on-site meetings

Internships are typically unpaid and scheduled for 32 hours per week. You will receive up to 16 hours of academic credit for the fall or spring semester program and up to eight semester hours of credit for the summer program.
