Program Outcomes

Hope College students completing a political science degree will:

• Demonstrate understanding of core concepts and theories of the discipline and its sub-fields
• Propose and execute theoretically-driven research projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods of research
• Think critically about the content of the discipline as well as integrating content/theoretical learning and applied experiences. 
• Consider how a Christian worldview shapes their understanding of the discipline in its theoretical and applied forms
• Articulate the meaning of engaged, responsible and informed citizenship across local, state, national and global contexts
• Explore professional and career vocational opportunities in politics, government, civil society and industry
