We help our students better understand the institutions that shape and implement public policy — in our society and in an increasingly complex and independent world.

The Department of Political Science provides concentrated study that combines excellent and rigorous classroom instruction with hands-on, experiential opportunities for learning.

We prepare our graduating majors to apply their political science training in a variety of ways and settings, whether continuing with graduate studies or law school or moving directly into meaningful employment in government and politics.
