Degree Programs

Our Bachelor of Arts in theatre degree is designed on a “contract” basis and is tailored to meet the needs and goals of each individual student.

Every theatre major receives a thorough education throughout all aspects of theatre and drama and is able to use that education as the building block for a focus in their preferred area of theatre.

We ask our majors to meet with their theatre advisors as soon as possible to begin a major contract in order to tailor their curriculum to their specific interest.  Sophomore and junior theatre majors fill out a student interview form and meet with the faculty annually to make sure they’re on track.

Suggested tracks within a theatre major

  • Performance
  • Design (scenic, lighting, sound, costumes)
  • Stage management
  • Directing

Double and Composite Majors

Students with a broader range of academic interests have options when pursuing their major in theatre.

COMPOSITE MAJORS
Some of our students have tailored their course of study by choosing a composite major. While we don’t offer a musical theatre major within the department, students have worked with the departments of theatre, music, and dance and the registrar to form a musical theatre composite major.

Several students have successfully completed a second major while pursuing a theatre major.  Here are some of the majors our alumni have completed:
