The VP for Business and CFO at Hope College oversees the operation of Hope’s business and financial areas. Departments that report to the CFO include:
The primary focus of the CFO’s office is to oversee infrastructural services essential to supporting the students, faculty and staff. It strives to ensure that students have an exceptional educational experience during their years at Hope. This includes the responsibility of being good stewards of the resources received. The office works in partnership with faculty and staff to operate the College as efficiently as possible to minimize the cost of providing a Hope education and, thus, maximizing the value of the student’s experience.

Thomas W. Bylsma has served as the Vice President for Business and CFO of Hope College since 2005. A 1986 graduate of Hope, Tom returned to his alma mater after working in public accounting and the life-care retirement industry.
