Welcome, Hope parents.

We realize that parents are highly involved in their students' lives, especially regarding college finances. In addition to the side panel listing our website topics, the links below might be of specific interest to parents.

Resource and Expense Worksheet to calculate what is owed after financial aid has been applied.

*Parents may request a repayment deferrment of principal or principal and interest while the student for whom they borrowed the loan maintains at least half time enrollment during the fall and spring semesters. If interest is deferred it continues to accrue and will be capatalized (added to the loan balance) at repayment. Parents do not receive a 6 month grace period after the student is no longer enrolled half time to begin repayment as the students do with their loans.

The deferment option is not automatic as it is for student loans. PLUS borrowers must request a repayment deferment in one of two ways:

1) If your student has an active Federal Direct Loan you may call Direct Loan Servicing at 800-848-0979.

2) If your student currently does not have an active loan you must obtain enrollment verification from the Registrar's Office and submit it with your written deferment request to U.S. Department of Education Direct Loan Servicing Center, PO Box 5609, Greenville, TX 75403-5609.
