Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children offering a $1,000 scholarship to a student who excels in leadership skills in the field of early childhood education or development. Candidate must have a minimum of 60 semester hours to qualify. Deadline is January 23, 2012. CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW ESSAY CONTEST (formerly the László Tokés Award) is an essay-writing contest for current Hope College juniors or seniors. Awards will be $1000 for the winner and $500 for the runner-up. Check website for further information and requirements. Deadline is February 24, 2012. The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) - East Michigan Chapter Scholarships is offering four scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to be awarded to students studying for a career in air pollution control, hazardous waste management or another environmental area. Scholarships must be used at a college or university in the State of Michigan. Deadline is February 29, 2012. The Lapeer County Community Foundation is offering the following 2012 scholarships for individuals from Lapeer County. General application scholarships and Hazel Simms Nursing Scholarship (must currently be a junior or senior). Deadline is March 15, 2012. The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Education Fund awarding scholarships ($3,000) to nursing students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing and anesthesia programs. The Mary Free Bed Guild of Grand Rapids offering scholarships to minority students pursuing degrees in nursing and rehabilitation therapy programs. Individuals can apply for a one-year scholarship for education-related expenses if he or she meets the established criteria. The scholarship amounts will vary depending on individual needs. Check their website for further information and eligibility. Deadline is March 31, 2012. U.S. Bank Scholarship Program offering 40 $1,000 scholarships. Winners will be selected at random. Deadline is March 31, 2012. The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) offering awards of $1,000. To be eligible, the student applicant or a parent or guardian must work at a business that is a member of MRA. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors may apply. Applications must be requested by March 15 and submitted by April 2, 2012. The BigSun Organization offering an annual scholarship of $500 to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Deadline June 22, 2012. Michigan Association of REALTORS® Scholarship Trust (MARST) fund provides scholarships to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are taking classes that will lead them to a real estate career. Students can receive up to $2000 per year from the fund. Deadline is July 01, 2012. AES Engineering offering $500 scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
