2009 MIDWEST Fine Art Finals Collegiate Poster and Fine Art Finals Scholarship Competition is dedicated to the promotion of talented and gifted emerging artists at the collegiate level and awards their mastery of technique and excellence of artistic achievement. Check their websites for acceptable media and award amounts which range from $1200 - $50. Deadline for postmarked entries is November 20, 2009.

The Institute for Humane Studies offering fellowship awards to students who are interested in exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary for a free society through their academic work. IHS is considering applications from students who will be full-time undergraduate juniors or seniors during the 2010-11 academic year and has a clear interest in researching the intellectual and institutional foundations of a free society. Humane Studies Fellowships awards range from $12,00 to $2,000. Deadline is December 31, 2009.

The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund Healthcare Scholarships program administered by MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland offering awards to Mid-Michigan area residents who are accepted into an accredited health care career studies program. Applications for the 2009-2010 school year will be accepted November 1, 2009 through February 12, 2010.

The Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Education Fund awarding $3,000 scholarships to nursing students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing and anesthesia programs. Student, student's parent(s), and/or spouse must have some association with the US Army. Check their website for further information and eligibility. Deadline is April 1, 2010.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program - Pilot Summer 2010 Award Cycle offering 125 scholarships to U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide during the Summer of 2010. These awards will be up to $5,000 with an average award of $3,000. Applicants must be majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field, and must meet all additional criteria listed at their webiste. Applicants who miss the October 6, 2009 deadline can apply during the second award cycle, but will not be notified of their award status until the first week of May. Please see their timeline for further clarification.

Epilepsy Council Of West Michigan offering The Joel A. Bierens Scholarship in the amount of $500 to graduating high school seniors and current college students who have epilepsy and who desire to continue their education. To apply for this scholarship, you must be a resident of Michigan who is epileptic. Deadline is June 1, 2010.

Abbott & Fenner Scholarships of $1000 being offered to students between the ages of 16 - 30 yrs old, high school junior or senior, and all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. A 500 to 1000 essay related to a particular issue is needed to apply. See their website for further information about the essay. Deadline is by email, June 19, 2010.

The BigSun Organization offering $500 awards to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Check their website for information on the essay topic. Deadline is by email, June 24, 2010.
