Summer Financial Aid

If you plan to attend Hope College in the summer (May, June and/or July Terms) and seek assistance, you may be eligible for aid from one or more of the following sources.

To request consideration for any type of assistance, complete and submit the 2014 Summer Aid Request form (available early March). For private or PLUS Loans, there are additional documents to submit as indicated below.

NOTE: Your grant and/or loan may be adjusted if you decrease your enrollment after the aid has been awarded. Summer awards are subject to making satisfactory academic progress after spring semester.

Grants		Loans
Students eligible for Federal Pell Grant will be awarded automatically. Students eligible for the Federal Teach Grant may receive funds for the summer terms. See more information here. Submit a Summer Aid Request Form. Some scholarships are available for the Japan and Vienna summer programs. Contact either the Office of International Education or the program coordinator for further information.		Federal Direct Loans for students enrolling for 6 or more credits who have not used their full grade level loans during the fall and spring semesters. Complete the Summer Aid Request Form. Federal Direct PLUS Loans for parents of students enrolling for 6 or more credits. Submit a completed 2014 SUMMER EXPENSE SHEET (available early March) to the Office of Financial Aid and have your parent submit the PLUS Loan application on line. The Summer Expense Sheet has the appropriate loan periods listed. Private Educational Loans- Submit a completed 2013 SUMMER EXPENSE SHEET to the Office of Financial Aid and the private loan application to the lender.
