The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (DL&EG), Bureau of Labor Market Information & Strategic Initiatives is the official source of a wide array of information on Michigan's labor market. The site provides a variety of information on jobs, unemployment, wages, industries, and occupations that serve to create an economic profile at the state and local levels. Access to the site provides a data source that is current and updated quarterly and monthly. Information on this site can be used for time series data, based on state and local comparisons.

Resources on the DL&EG site are organized with information that is already summarized and foramatted. However, the site also provides "user-friendly" methods for specific data needs. For example, the Covered Industry Employment and Wage (ES-202) Report can be accessed by drop down boxes with options specified as geography and time frame. Options also allow specification by industry or offer the user more general overall statistics regarding changes in wages and employment over time. For a national source of employment and wage data consult the U.S. Department of Labor: Bureau of Labor Statistics web site.
