Michigan State University Data Resources

The Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) at Michigan State University (MSU) provides a statewide survey of 1,000 Michigan adults, referred to as a "state of the state survey" (SOSS). Conducted quarterly, the SOSS provides current information about citizen opinions on issues such as education, the environment, health care, crime, victimization and family violence, giving and philanthropy, governmental institutions, and specific community concerns. Survey data is available on the Internet in SPSS format to be downloaded for analyses that are specific to the user's needs.

MSU's College of Education K-12 Outreach provides research, instruction and outreach, with emphasis on service to the state's education community. "The mission and unifying theme of every K-12 Outreach activity is to improve student learning and increase student achievement throughout Michigan." K-12 Outreach also provides an excellent web page with links to a variety of data sources and information.
