Receptions at the Maas Center
Confirmation: Maas is confirmed 1 year prior to the wedding date. Receptions can be scheduled on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday, and you may choose a mid-day or evening block, depending on availability. To add your name to the waiting list please call Kristi Dunn at 616-395-7220 or email her at dunnk@hope.edu. Rental Fee: The Maas Center is available for rent to the general public. The rental fee for 2007 is $600.00 with a full meal reception and $800.00 with a refreshment only reception. The balance is non-refundable and is required with the signed contract. Rental includes the Maas Auditorium, Maas Conference Room, and Maas Lobby. Hours of Use: The renter will have use of the facility for five consecutive hours. The five hours includes set-up, the event and breakdown. Pre-arranged additional time may be purchased for use after five hours for $100.00 an hour, which will be billed after the event. All times are scheduled through the Conference Services Office at 616-395-7220. Music: You may choose to have live or recorded music, or no music at all. We provide chairs and music stands for musicians. The sound system can play pre-recorded music off a CD. Hope College possesses sole discretion to make the request to reduce the sound. Maas Center Items: The following items are available for your use:
Arrangements for use of these items must be made one month in advance with the Conference Services department at 616-395-7220. Request for use of items the day of the event may not be able to be granted. Food: All food for the reception must be catered through Hope College Dining Services. You may contact them for menu and decoration needs by calling 616-395-7210.
Flowers: Hope Dining Services can provide flowers as part of the event decoration package. A fee may apply if these flowers are removed. If you choose to out-source your florist, we ask that you inform your florist to limit the types of greenery used in your floral design to those that do no shed. Alcohol/Smoking: Hope College, an institution affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, does not allow the consumption of alcohol, use of illegal drugs, or any other activity the College deems inconsistent with its mission. Smoking is not permitted in campus buildings and facilities. Parking: Parking is available in any designated Hope College lot. Handicap parking spaces are located in the vicinity of the Maas Center.
Wedding Ceremonies: Dimnent Memorial Chapel, on Hope’s campus, is a beautiful setting for your wedding ceremony. |
