Assistant to the Associate Provost and Dean for International and Multicultural Education

Hope College invites immediate applications for this part-time (20 hours/week) position. Hope College is a Christian, co-educational, undergraduate, residential, multicultural, liberal arts college of 3,200 students, affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, located in Holland, MI.

Position Summary:

This position provides office support for the Dean of International and Multicultural Education.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the Dean’s schedule
  • Coordinate the scheduling of committee meetings and the visits of external visitors
  • Manage and generate budget reports
  • Recruit, hire, supervise and evaluate student workers
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain office files, inventory, and office supplies
  • Process and edit written drafts of documents, including mail merge applications, newsletters and office materials
  • Maintain Dean’s website
  • Conduct basic library and internet research on behalf of the Dean
  • Record minutes for meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree preferred. General office experience required. The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, have a sense of humor, positive attitude, attention to detail and conduct themselves in a professional manner. Strong computer skills should include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Publisher, Power Point, Access, and Excel. Experience in web page development and design, such as Dreamweaver is expected. Candidates who possess bilingual skills (Spanish, Japanese or Mandarin) and have experiences working in cross-cultural settings are especially welcome.
