A Letter to Students: Greetings! I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to sing or perhaps play with the Gospel Choir and tell you about this year’s plans. This year we will sing many great worship songs as well as traditional black gospel music from various African American Churches. In doing so we not only have the opportunity to travel to and pursue relationships with black churches in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo, but also have a possible trip planned to Howard University in Washington, D.C in the fall. Not only does Gospel Choir seek relationships with black churches but it also plays a large role in life on campus. We will worship in the Chapel and Gathering services at least once a month as well as host the Martin Luther King praise fest on our campus. I am excited to announce that we also have a new musical director, Moses Mares joining us this year. He is extremely talented man and has a great heart for worship and for God. With his help and direction our sound will be universal, creative, energetic, and worshipful.
