A Letter to Students:

Greetings! I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to sing or perhaps play with the Gospel Choir and tell you about this year’s plans.

This year we will sing many great worship songs as well as traditional black gospel music from various African American Churches. In doing so we not only have the opportunity to travel to and pursue relationships with black churches in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo, but also have a possible trip planned to Howard University in Washington, D.C in the fall. Not only does Gospel Choir seek relationships with black churches but it also plays a large role in life on campus. We will worship in the Chapel and Gathering services at least once a month as well as host the Martin Luther King praise fest on our campus.

I am excited to announce that we also have a new musical director, Moses Mares joining us this year. He is extremely talented man and has a great heart for worship and for God. With his help and direction our sound will be universal, creative, energetic, and worshipful.

I'm excited about the up-coming fall semester and looking forward to what the Lord will do in us and through us with our music and worship to Him. I genuinely hope that you will consider joining us for all the fun things we have planned. You can continue checking our website for more information and updates throughout the rest of the summer or emailing any questions you may have to gospelchoir@hope.edu. If you’re unsure about becoming a member of Gospel Choir, commit it to prayer, and please consider joining us. It's going to be an exciting, worshipful, and energetic year and I look forward to meeting you in late August with our first rehearsal on September 10th. Mark it on your calendars!

Grace and peace,

Bryan Lowe
