Lend-a-Hand Farm

Spend this Spring Break in Stinking Creek, KY with two women, now in their seventies, who have dedicated their lives to the people in this community.  You’ll spend the week on the Lend-A-Hand farm in rural Appalachia doing some good ol’ farm work – milking the cows, building fences, working in the gardens, taking care of the animals, and doing repairs on farm buildings.  You’ll drive the “hollers” picking up kids for Sunday school and a carnival, get out into the community doing some house repairs for people on the creek, and spend an afternoon hiking to a waterfall and soaking up the rich mountain culture at a local restaurant on the KY, TN, and VA border.  Become part of the
Lend-A-Hand family as you stay in the big farmhouse and hear Peggy and Irma’s remarkable stories of their fifty years there and how they’ve taken Jesus seriously in leaving all they had to follow him and “care for the least of these”.  And all the while you’ll be surrounded by the peace and serenity of the mountains.
