Student LifeAll student organizations who travel any distance from the College as part of their activities must register their trip with Student Development.
For a trip of two or more nights, students must be accompanied by the organization advisor or approved Hope College employee for the entire trip, including transportation to and from the destination. No exceptions will be made. For a fee, Hope College vans and cars may be reserved through the Transportation Office, located in the Campus Safety Office (x7799). You must make arrangements at least 24-hours in advance of the trip. All drivers must be certified by the Transportation Office. Classes are offered once a week. To schedule a time, please call Transportation at (x7799). It is a requirement that any student organization that travels off Hope College property must use a Hope College vehicle or other authorized means of transportation. Contact the Student Development Office (x7800) for more information. When your organization returns to campus it is the expectation that the vans will be thoroughly cleaned, the gas tank filled from the 19th Street Transportation garage, parked in Lot K, locked, and the completed key packet returned to Campus Safety. There will be additional charges if these requirements are not met. Please call Transportation (x7799) with any questions. For road emergencies while away from campus, please contact Campus Safety at 616-395-7770. Students, faculty or staff should not transport any injured person while traveling on college business. Contact 911 to arrange for prompt medical attention. While traveling on college business with your student organization all members must abide by Hope College policies, acting as a representative of the College at all times and obey all laws.
