Frequently Asked Questions about entering grades and retrieving class lists

1. I can't remember my password!

   Call the Help Desk at CIT x7660.

2. I'm teaching a class, but it's not on my KNOWHOPE PLUS menu.
   • If you are teaching the class with a colleague, you may be listed as the secondary instructor. Only the faculty member listed as "primary" may enter grades. Check with your colleague.
   • If you are the sole instructor of the class and cannot find the class on your menu, please contact the Registrar's Office x7760 so we can check our records.
3. A student has been attending my class, but is not on my class list.

   Please e-mail the student's name, and the name, course, and section number of the class to CdeJong@hope.edu or to Advising@hope.edu We'll check our records to see if the student has added the class and e-mail you about what we've learned.

4. I need help. Can someone walk me through the process?

   Contact the Help Desk at CIT x7660; they're happy to help.

5. How can I make a grade change?

   Midterm grades
   

   Since midterm grades are not part of a student's permanent record, midterm grades may be changed at any time. Students are able to see their midterms grades via KnowHope Plus as soonas midterm grades are entered.

   Final grades
   

   Changes to final grades can be made on KNOWHOPE PLUS until the "Rolled" column is marked "YES." If you don't see the "Rolled" column, grades have not yet been rolled; you may make any changes and click Submit Changes at the bottom of the screen.

   If the "Rolled" column is marked "YES", you'll need to submit grade changes to the Registrar's Office, rather than use KNOWHOPE PLUS. You may pick up a grade change report from the Registrar's Office and submit it. You may also e-mail grade changes to CdeJong@hope.edu To make the change, we need to know:
   

   The student's name and ID number

   The name and course and section number of the class

   The semester and year the class was taught

   The instructor

   The changed grade

   The reason for the change

6. I can pull up a class from my menu, but can't enter grades

   If you are teaching the class with a colleague, you may be listed as the secondary instructor. Only the faculty member listed as "primary" may enter grades. Check with your colleague.

7. I'm having trouble printing my class list!

   You'll need to access KNOWHOPE PLUS via Internet Explorer (rather than Netscape Navigator) to print your class list. If you try to print from Netscape Navigator, you'll get an error message, "Data Missing."
