General Testing Information
National Testing Hope College serves as a testing site for various examination programs. We serve as national testing sites for the SAT and GRE. As a national testing site, the Registrar's Office serves as an administrator only and does not register students or take examination fee payments. Students who are interested in SAT should contact their high school guidance office. Students interested in the GRE may obtain registration bulletins and guides from the Office of the Registrar or Career Services. They may call GRE at 1-609-771-7906 with any questions.
Institutional Testing The Registrar's Office does institutional testing for the CLEP and, in that capacity, is a limited testing site testing only current Hope students, or Freshmen and transfer students who will be attending Hope College.
Residual Testing The Registrar's Office participates in residual ACT testing. This is offered to our enrolled or admitted students who were unable to test on a national test date. Students interested in residual ACT testing should contact the Admissions Office to be approved and referred to the Registrar's Office personnel who will then schedule the administration of the exam.
Credit by Examination The following tests are available to Hope students:
Advanced Placement Program (AP) is a program sponsored by The College Board. Students who complete AP courses in high school may take the AP exam. Generally Hope College credit is granted to students that received grades of 4 or 5. Sometimes scores of 3 receive credit.
Exam Proctoring As a limited service, offered only to alumni, current students, and current employees, the Registrar's Office will proctor exams. This is done on an appointment basis only. There may be a fee to cover copying or mailing expenses. Therefore, please contact us as early as possible so we may be able to accommodate your needs and time constraints.
If you are not a current student, current employee, or alumni of Hope College, please contact another testing center.
