RA Training in September

Each fall the Residential Life Staff goes through a class on fire extinguisher training. The class consists of a one-hour classroom instruction with video and speaker. After the classroom portion is finished the class goes and performs actual hands-on-training. The hands-on-training is held on the east side of the municipal stadium where participants get to extinguish a real fire using an ABC type fire extinguisher. The class emphasizes when to fight and when to take flight, the dos and don'ts of using a fire extinguisher.

Employee Training

Hope College employees are encouraged to take this class. Everyone should know how to use a fire extinguisher. These classes can be scheduled as needed by calling the Occupational Health and Fire Safety office.
