Christmas Vespers will be presented on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets will be $7 each, with a limit of four tickets per person. No orders will be accepted, and tickets will not be sold at the services.

4:30 pm “IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures”, The Knickerbocker Theatre
“Images” will begin with a dinner featuring international cuisine from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Phelps Hall dining room. For those not on the college’s meal plan, admission to the dinner will be $5 per person, payable at the door. The international showcase, to which admission is free, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre. The showcase will feature an array of songs, dances, instrumental performances and other clips of culture in multiple languages and fashions. More than 30 students will participate from countries such as Burma, China, Ghana, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Many of the injustices suffered by Native Americans have been carried out under the name of Christianity, which has created a gap between the two. Today Michael Peters works to bridge the worlds of Christianity and the Anishnaabe tradition in order to “bring the fire of the Holy Spirit into the Native culture.” As Executive Director of Sabaoth Ministries, located in Grand Rapids, Peters organizes sacred "gatherings" as a way for urban Natives to "reclaim and experience the beauty of our heritage for the glory of the Creator."
