Off Campus Rides for Students

The Transportation Department offers rides for field placements, internships, and appointments Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Reservations should be made by 1:00 pm the day prior to the ride.

ONE WAY EXPRESS RIDES

Instructions for booking

One way express ride service is provided as an alternative to public transportation for students that need a ride to a medical appointment, an internship, or volunteering for college-related purposes.  There is limited availability, so please reserve early.  All rides for education placements must use the Education Shuttle System.

The one way special rides can be provided to or from many locations within the local Holland and Zeeland area.  Locations may be limited at the discretion of the Transportation Office due to distance or availability of drivers.  For verification of an accepted location, please contact our office.

Riders are given a 30 minute appointment that fill on a first come, first served basis.  Riders must be ready to depart from Campus Safety or their off-campus location at the beginning of this 30 minute period and should start watching for the driver.  The rider will be picked up as soon as possible and will be dropped off by the end of the 30 minute period. 

Cost: $3.00 per person each way billed directly to your student account.
(Student account number is required at the time your reservation is made.)

EDUCATION PLACEMENT RIDES

Shuttles depart from Campus Safety at these times:
8:00 AM (outbound only),
10:15 AM (outbound and inbound),
12:30 PM (outbound and inbound),
and 2:45 PM (back to campus only).  

The Education Placement Shuttle Service is provided as an alternative to public transportation for students that need a ride to an education field placement.  There is limited availability, so please reserve early.  All rides for education placements must use the Education Shuttle System.  Student Teachers should contact the Transportation office to discuss alternatives.

Shuttles depart from Campus Safety at these times: 8:00 AM (outbound only), 10:15 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:45 PM (back to campus only). 

Shuttles make a loop, ending back at Campus Safety, and can take up to an hour, depending on ridership.  Riders must be at the pick up location at the off-campus school two hours and five minutes (or 4 hours 10 minutes) after being dropped off to keep the shuttle running on time.  The wait time could be up to ten minutes depending on other riders and traffic.  Missing the shuttle may mean a rider will have to wait until the next shuttle comes through.
