Vehicle Reservations:

The Hope College Transportation Department maintains a fleet of vehicles that are available for faculty, staff, and certified students when conducting college-related business off-campus. Reservations are based on availability and the type of vehicle best fit for the intended use. There are a limited number of vehicles, so please reserve early. If all College vehicles are reserved, other options may be pursued through an external rental agency dependent on availability. If you have questions about specific trip costs & scenarios, please contact Transportation.

Rental Procedure:

Requests must be made online through EMS. For first time users, please review the instructions.

Requests must be made at least two business days in advance to be considered. As much as possible, the Transportation Department honors first reservations, so please reserve early.

For urgent situations and last minute reservations: During business hours, a vehicle may be obtained, if one is available, for urgent situations. Availability is limited for such situations due to requirements for vehicle inspection, cleaning, fueling, and maintenance. No reservations will be granted after 4pm or on the weekends.

For all reservations, keys will be picked up and dropped off at the Campus Safety office, 178 E. 11th St. Motor pool vehicles are parked in Lot 52 (formerly Lot F) in numbered spots where they will be picked up and dropped off. If you must leave a personal vehicle overnight, ask the Information Center Operator in the Campus Safety office where he or she would like you to leave it when you pick up your motor pool keys.

In the event that all motor pool vehicles are booked or otherwise unavailable, the Transportation Department can work with you to make other arrangements during business hours. The Transportation office can call Enterprise Rent-A-Car to make a reservation on your behalf, however, based on the circumstances, you may be responsible for picking up and dropping off the vehicle, as well as any additional fees that may be incurred.

Your vehicle will have a full tank of gas when you pick it up. You are responsible for fuel costs for the duration of your reservation.
