HOPE
COLLEGE TRiO UPWARD BOUND IS
|
A pre-college preparatory program designed
to help develop the motivation and academic skills of students
from first generation college and low income families.
Upward Bound is for students who are interested in pursing an educational
program beyond high school.

Students wishing
to apply to the TRiO Upward Bound
Program can download a copy of the application just by clicking "Application" on
the navigation bar (left). Students may also pick up an application
from the
TRiO Upward Bound
office
or at
their school
Guidance Office.
To participate students must show:
- Demonstration of need (financial
and academic) TRiO is a federally funded
program that is free for those students whose family income falls
below
a certain level
and/or for students who are first generation generation
college students (parents do not have a four
year college
degree).
- Demonstration of academic promise and
the ability, motivation and commitment to succeed as indicated by
recommendations and/or test scores.
- Demonstration
of college aspirations as evidenced
by recommendations and a personal interview.
- Attendance at one of the three TRiO
Upward Bound target schools

Program participation
is absolutely free to students who qualify; however, it will require
their time, energy and commitment.
