Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing

Writing Assistants understand your experience, and they may have had the same course for which you are writing papers. Plan for them as your partner to brainstorm, plan, review and revise your writing.

Write a Better Paper -- Become a Better Writer.

The David J. Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing provides trained Writing Assistants who will read and respond to your work in progress. We can help you brainstorm topics, talk about the plan or structure of papers, respond to early drafts and plan for revision, help you learn to proofread your work carefully, and help you find answers to questions about documentation styles or manuscript formats. We work side by side with you to help you learn how to write a better paper. The Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing also sponsors seminars and workshops for students.

The CWR maintains a list of helpful web resources, giving Hope students easy access to ideas and material from Writing Centers across the country. Following the Center on Twitter (@HopeKloosterCtr) provides a regular feed of useful websites, tips for improving writing, and updates about what's happening at Hope.

The Klooster Center is on the main floor of Van Wylen Library, next to the Research Help Desk.

Writing Assistants are available Sundays from 1 PM to 10 PM, and Mondays through Thursdays from 11 AM to 10 PM.
