Hope offers one of the finest athletic training programs in the nation, with courses and clinical experience accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Athletic training majors work with Hope’s 18 intercollegiate athletic teams, in addition to off-campus clinical rotations in various health care environments.
The department operates three laboratories for learning and research, including labs dedicated to human anatomy, exercise physiology and biomechanics.
You can pursue fieldwork and internships with local physical therapists, physicians, sports medicine clinics, high school and collegiate sports teams, professional sports organizations, campus, health clubs, corporate wellness departments, and a variety of educational placements.
Most faculty members are teachers and coaches. Four department faculty members have received National Coach of the Year Awards, and four have received teaching awards.
