2008 Young Alumni Award Recipient Announced!

The Young Alumni Award was initiated in 2006 to recognize
the outstanding achievements of Hope's recently graduated
alumni. Given annually to alumni who graduated within the
last fifteen years, this award highlights the tremendous talents
and contributions that young people make to their profession,
to their community, and to Hope College.
The first awards will be given out
during the 2007 Alumni Weekend. We are eagerly accepting
nominations for this prestigious award!
Criteria
for Selection:
The Hope Young Alumni Award is given
to Hope alumni who have graduated within the past fifteen
years in recognition of a commitment to excellence in post-collegiate
life and a significant or ongoing commitment to extraordinary
work, research or volunteerism.
We invite and encourage you to submit
a nomination. Nominations by classmates, family or co-workers
are acceptable. Self nominations are not recommended. Please
use this form for submissions and return to the Office of
Alumni and Parent Relations.
This award will be presented to deserving
alumni who meet the following criteria:
- A nominee must be a member of the
Hope College Alumni Association* for no more than 15
years
prior to the current year. Updates will be made to the
nomination on a regular basis. *(All Hope graduates
and non-graduates
who have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours are members
of the Alumni Association).
- Each must have attained notable
degree of prominence through professional endeavor, research,
volunteerism, and/or involvement within the local or global
community or the college.
- Special consideration will be given
for those who demonstrate significant initiative by starting
innovative service projects, research, businesses or other
original enterprises.
It is expected that a recipient of
this award will be present to accept the award during Alumni
Weekend.

Nomination Form
Your letter of nomination and this
form are required for each nomination. Pictures, press releases
or websites are acceptable pieces of information to include
with the nomination.
Nominees will not be notified of their
recommendation. All nominations must be approved by the Alumni
Association Board of Directors prior to being placed on the
permanent consideration list. A nominee will remain on the
consideration list until his/her graduation date exceeds fifteen
years prior to the current year. For example; a 2000 Hope
graduate will remain on the list until the year 2015.
