Kicking off this year's Great Performance Series season will be the New York-based dance duo of Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer. Dance partners and choreographers, Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer are known for their breathtaking and catapulting partnering. They will collaborate live with Grammy-award winning percussionist Glen Velez to perform "Carried Away," an original work delving into the desire to be carried away, and to get carried away. Having choreographed and performed together since 1978, they are recipients of six National Endowment for the Arts Choreography Fellowships, a New York Foundation for the Arts Choreography Fellowship, and numerous other awards. Their work has been produced in New York City by Dance Theater Workshop, P.S. 122, Danspace Project at St. Mark's Church, Lincoln Center's Serious Fun! Festival, and Central Park's Summer Stage. As a duet company, they have toured throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, performing in festivals, art centers, and universities.
