Hope College is situated in a residential area two blocks from
the central business district of Holland, Michigan, a community of
40,000 which was founded in 1847 by Dutch settlers. Located on Lake
Macatawa and approximately five miles from beautiful Lake Michigan,
Holland has long been known as a summer resort area. Holland
has been honored as one of the nation's best-preserved and unique communities.
Holland was also designated an All-America city in 1996. Hope's hometown
in 2007 earned national attention in Forbes magazine as one
of the five safest metro areas in the United States.

The Richard and Helen DeVos Fieldhouse
The DeVos Fieldhouse houses the offices for the department of kinesiology
and the college's athletic training program, and is the home court
for the volleyball and men's and women's basketball programs. The
102,000 square foot building is located at Fairbanks Avenue south
of Ninth Street. The fieldhouse is named for Richard and Helen DeVos
in honor of their foundation's leadership gift. DeVos Fieldhouse has been the site of several NCAA championship events. The 2012 and 2013 Division III championships in women's basketball and volleyball are being held at DeVos Fieldhouse.
