AN OVERVIEW

Hope College is a four-year, liberal arts, undergraduate college, affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. The curriculum offers a variety of courses in 83 majors. During the 2010-11 school year, Hope enrolled 3,202 students from 44 states and territories and 29 foreign countries.

Hope College fields athletic teams in 18 sports, nine for men and nine for women. Sports offered men include cross country, football, golf and soccer in the fall, basketball and swimming in the winter, and baseball, tennis and track in the spring. Sports offered women include cross country, golf, soccer and volleyball in the fall, basketball and swimming in the winter, and softball, tennis and track in the spring.

Hope has been a member since 1926 of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The MIAA is an nine-member conference consisting of Adrian, Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, Olivet, Saint Mary's and Trine (formerly Tri-State).

Hope is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

    BASEBALL

  • Baseball games are played at the Boeve Baseball Stadium, at the Buys Athletics Complex, located along Fairbanks Avenue between 9th and 12th Streets.
  • For locker room and athletic training facilities, visiting teams use DeVos Fieldhouse at 222 Fairbanks Avenue.
  • Teams may be dropped off here and then buses must park in the Holland Municipal Stadium lot at 313 Fairbanks; vans may park in the gravel parking lot next to the /baseball/softball/track complex.
  • At Boeve Stadium, visiting teams use the first base dugout.

    SOFTBALL

  • Softball games are played at the Wolters Softball Stadium, at the Buys Athletics Complex, located along Fairbanks Avenue between 9th and 12th Streets.
  • For locker room and athletic training facilities, visiting teams use DeVos Fieldhouse at 222 Fairbanks Avenue.
  • Teams may be dropped off here and then buses must park in the Holland Municipal Stadium lot at 313 Fairbanks; vans may park in the gravel parking lot next to the /baseball/softball/track complex.
  • At Wolters Stadium, visitors use the third base dugout.

  • Games are played at the DeVos Fieldhouse located at 222 Fairbanks Avenue.
  • Teams are to be dropped off at the loading dock of DeVos which faces Lincoln Avenue. Buses must then leave and park at Physical Plant parking lot off 11th Street west of the railroad tracks; vans must leave after drop-off and may park in any non-reserved lot next to DeVos Fieldhouse.
  • Locker room assignments will be given upon each visiting teams arrival.
  • The visiting bench is at the east side of the arena, closest to the fieldhouse’s main entrance.

  • Meets are held a course locatged at Ridgepoint Community Church on 340 104th Avenue, Holland.
  • Ample parking is available for vans or buses in the church parking lots.

    FOOTBALL

  • Games are played at Holland Municipal Stadium located at 313 Fairbanks Avenue.
  • Visiting teams use the Bouws Pool locker room facilities located immediately adjacent to the stadium.
  • Buses must park next to Bouws Pool and NOT in the stadium parking lot.
  • Athletic training is available on site and at the Lugers Fieldhouse.

  • Games are played at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium, located along Fairbanks Avenue between 9th and 12th Streets.
  • Locker room and athletic training facilities are available in DeVos Fieldhouse, located at 222 Fairbanks Avenue, and are assigned upon arrival.
  • Teams may be dropped off here and then buses must park in the Holland Municipal Stadium lot at 313 Fairbanks.
  • The visiting team’s bench is at the north end of the competition field.

  • Dual home meets take place at the Dow Health and Physical Education Center, located at 168 East 13th Street.
  • Quad meets are hosted at the Holland Community Aquatic Center (HCAC) located at 550 Maple Avenue.
  • Locker rooms and athletic training facilities are available just off each pools’ decks.
  • Bus parking at the Dow can be found along the east side of the building; at the HCAC, bus parking is available in any lot.

  • Indoor matches are played at the DeWitt Tennis Center located at 301 Fairbanks Avenue.

  • Outdoor matches for men’s tennis are played at the courts across from the Dow Center, 168 East 13th.
  • Locker rooms are available at the Dow and parking as well.

  • Meets are held at the Brewer Track at the Buys Athletic Field Complex, located behind the DeWitt Tennis Center at 301 Fairbanks.
  • Bus parking is available in the Holland Municipal Stadium lot; vans many park in the gravel lot next to the track/baseball/softball complex. Locker room and athletic training facilities are available at DeVos Fieldhouse at 222 Fairbanks Avenue.

  • Matches are played at the DeVos Fieldhouse, located at 222 Fairbanks Avenue.

  • ATHLETIC TRAINING INFORMATION

    The following services will be provided by the Hope College athletic training program:

    1) Certified athletic trainer (ATC) and athletic training students at all contests.

      a. ATC staff on call for golf and tennis events
    2) Team physician at all home varsity and junior varsity football games. In
    attendance or on call for all other contests.
      a. Stand-by ambulance coverage at all varsity and junior varsity football games. Additional ambulance coverage is provided according to MIAA
      guidelines and event size.
    3) Emergency supplies available at all contests.

    4) Water, cups, and ice bags in locker room or competition area.

    5) Taping and pre-competition preparation can be performed as needed. Please provide supplies for any taping or other preventative measures you expect us to
    provide. Therapeutic treatments will only be given with written letter from your
    institution’s ATC or physician outlining the specific instructions and parameters
    for the treatment.

    The Hope College athletic training rooms are located in the Devos Fieldhouse, Dow Center, and Lugers Fieldhouse. Each of these facilities is equipped with a variety of therapeutic modalities and treatment/exam areas. Please refer to event information for information regarding which athletic training room to use for your sport.
