Flying Dutch Finish Third in NCAA Qualifier (4/24/10)
The Flying Dutch finished third in the MIAA's qualifying tournament for the NCAA Division III championship. Saint Mary's won the qualifier to advance. Hope also finished third during the regular season standings. Leading Hope in this weekend's rounds was Megan Scholten at 85-84--169. Next were Lauren Zandstra 89-84--173, Charlotte Park 92-83--175, Andrea McCarty 91-86--177 and Cassie Sneller 93-86--179.
Flying Dutch Finish Fourth at MIAA Playoff Round (4/23/10)
The Flying Dutch finished fourth at the second NCAA qualifying round
hosted by Saint Mary's on Friday. The host Belles used their home
course, the Blackthorn golf course, to full advantage with a record
round of 311
strokes,
followed by Olivet 344, Trine 350, Hope 357, Albion 382 and Adrian
410.
With two of three rounds completed, Saint Mary's tops the standings
at 644 strokes followed by Olivet 672, Hope 693, Trine 714, Albion
766 and Adrian 830. The final round will be played Saturday, also
hosted by
Saint Mary's. The winner advances to the NCAA Division III championships
next month.
The medalist was Mary Kate Boyce of Saint Mary's at 39-35--74. Leading
Hope was Megan Scholten at 41-44--85, followed by Lauren Zandstra
47-42--89, Andrea McCarty 50-41--91, Charlotte Park 46-46--92
and Cassie Sneller 53-400--93.
Flying Dutch Second at Bethel Tournament (4/17/10)
The Flying Dutch finished second in the 36-hole, eight-team Blackthorn Challenge hosted by Bethel College on
Friday and Saturday. Host Bethel won the tournament at 650 strokes while Hope ended with 654 followed by St. Francis 672, Marian 712, Malone 723, Aquinas 747, Davenport 752 and Trine 795.
The medalist was Angela Gauck of Marian at 79-74--153. Hope senior captain Cassie Sneller finished a stroke behind at 75-79--154. Scores of other Hope golfers in the team standings were Megan Scholten 82-81--163, Lauren Zandstra 86-82--168, Charlotte Park 86-83--169 and Andrea McCarty 92-88--180. Scores of golfers entered as individuals were Katie Blodgett 85-87--172 and Emily Atsma 86-89--175.
Flying Dutch Third in NCAA Qualifier (4/14/10)
The Flying Dutch finished third in the first of three rounds that will determine the MIAA representative to the NCAA Division III championships. On Wednesday at The Medalist, Olivet led the field of seven teams at 328 strokes followed by Saint Mary's 333, Hope 336, Trine 364, Albion 384, Adrian 420 and Kalamazoo 438.
The medalist was Lauren Campbell of Olivet at 39-36--75. Leading Hope was senior captain Cassie Sneller at 39-42--81. Next were Charlotte Park 42-40--82, Andrea McCarty 45-41--86, Megan Scholten 43-44--87, and Emily Atsma 48-46--94.
The second and third rounds of the qualifier will be April 23-24 hosted by Saint Mary's.
Flying Dutch Win Own Invitational (4/5/10)
The Flying Dutch won their own Spring Invitational besting two other teams at the Wuskowhan Players Club. Hope ended at 337 strokes, followed by Davenport 359 and Aquinas 371. The medalist was Caitlin Duval of Davenport at 38-41--79. Scores of

Flying Dutch Second in Triangular (4/1/10)
The Flying Dutch finished second in a triangular host by Olivet College at the The Medalist on Thursday. Host
Olivet won the meet with 331 strokes, followed by Hope 342 and Albion 396. The medalist was Laurejn Campbell of Olivet at 80.
Hope was led by Megan Scholten 42-39--81 followed by Charlotte Park 39-46--85, Cassie Sneller 44-44--88, Lauren Zandstra 43-45--88, Shali Clark 45-52--97, and Maggie Mangan 54-49--103.
Flying Dutch End Third in MIAA Standings (10/10/09)
The Flying Dutch ended third in the MIAA standings for the second straight years after finishing third in an abbreviated conference tournament round on Saturday. The opening 18 hole round on Friday was washed out. On Saturday Saint Mary's clinched the league championship. Hope finished 15 strokes behind on the day. Three Hope golfers received All-MIAA second team recognition -- Charlotte Park, a freshman from Grosse Pointe; Megan Scholten, a sophomore from Grand Rapids/GR Christian HS and Cassie Sneller, a senior from Holland/Hamilton HS.
Megan Scholten is Jamboree Medalist (10/3/09)
Hope sophomore Megan Scholten captured medalist honors with an MIAA course-record round as the Flying Dutch finished third in the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Saint Mary's on
Saturday at the Blackthorn golf course. Scholten was one stroke better than the previous course mark with a 38-39--77. Saint Mary's maintained its lead in
the seasonal standings by winning the Jamboree at 327 strokes, followed by Olivet 329, Hope 331, Trine 356, Calvin 358, Albion 367, Alma 374, Kalamazoo 389, and Adrian 402. Scores
of other Hope golfers were Charlotte Park 82, Cassie Sneller 84, Lauren Zandstra 88, and Emily Atsma 89. Hope remains in third place in the
seasonal standings.
Flying Dutch Third at MIAA Jamboree (10/1/09)
For the third straight time the Flying Dutch have finished third in a conference
tournament to remain in third place midway through the MIAA season. Coach
Greg Stafford's Flying Dutch ended 23 strokes off the pace in Thursday's tournament
at
the Milham golf course hosted by
Kalamazoo. Through three of six rounds the Flying Dutch trail frontrunner
Saint Mary's by 60 strokes.
Saint Mary's finished at 325 strokes in Thursday's round followed by Olivet
329, Hope 348, Calvin 372, Trine 373, Kalamazoo 391, Albion 392, Alma 405
and Adrian 417. The medalist was Martyna Mierzwa of Saint Mary's at 74. Leading
Hope was Charlotte Park at 84 followed by Emily Atsma 87, Lauren Zandstra
88, Megan Scholten 89 and Cassie Sneller 92.
The seasonal standings are Saint Mary's 964, Olivet 979, Hope 1,024, Trine 1,088, Calvin 1,123, Albion 1,136, Alma 1,179, and Adrian 1,237.

with a two-day total of 650 strokes. Hope finished with 655. Captain Cassie Sneller finished third in the player standings

The Flying Dutch finished third in the MIAA Jamboree they hosted Wednesday at the Macatawa Legends golf course. Olivet won the meet with a course record 318. Hope's third
place score of 335 also eclipsed the former course mark of 341. The medalist was Megan Rimmel of Olivet with a course record 75. Leading Hope was Charlotte Park
whose 81 was two strokes better than the old course record. Scores of other Hope golfers were Cassie Sneller 82, Sasha Burau 86, Emily Atsma 86 and
Megan Scholten 89. Saint Mary's continues to top the standings while the Flying Dutch are 37 strokes behind in third place.
Flying Dutch Third in MIAA Jamboree (9/17/09)
The Flying Dutch finished third in the season's first MIAA Jamboree held Thursday at The Medalist golf course. Saint Mary's led
the field over the 18-hole jamboree at 317 strokes followed by Olivet 332, Hope 341, Trine 354, 5. Albion 371, 6. Kalamazoo 377, 7. Calvin 389,
8. Alma 404 and Adrian 412.
Sharing medalist honors were Martyna Mierzwa of Saint Mary's and Katlyn Pero of Trine at 76 strokes. Leading Hope was Megan Scholten who
was seventh in the field at 39-44--83. Scores of other Hope golfers were Cassie Sneller 39-46--85, Sasha Burau 43-43--86, Charlotte Park 42-45--87 and Lauren
