HOPE AT THE CROSSROADS:
The War Years
Edited
by Eileen Nordstrom and George Zuidema
This
special book has been lovingly crafted from dozen's of memoirs
written by alumni, former professors and others who were on the
Hope College campus in the tumultuous decade of the 1940s. It gives
an insightful look at a period that saw Hope's enrollment dwindle
as men were called to active duty and then surge with the post-war
boom. Both entertaining and moving, it is a chronicle for
anyone interested in the "greatest generation" in general
and their lives at Hope College in particular.
1940's Memorial Scholarship Fund
As a special incentive, proceeds of each book
sold will be used to fund a scholarship that has be set up in the
name
of the 43 Hope students and alumni who died in World War II. For
more information on this scholarship or to make a direct donation
please contact the Office
of College Advancement.
