Coursepack Copyright Information

Recognizing both the importance of complying with copyright regulations and the often time-consumming process of seeking copyright permissions, the bookstore offers to file permission requests for the material used in cousepacks. If you provide us with correct and complete information about the sources you are using, we can generally file for and receive permission for the material within six weeks; sometimes much faster if the majority of publishers are affiliated with the Copyright Clearance Center. However, it is important to honor our deadlines for copyright information if you expect the coursepack to be available to the students the first week of classes.

As a general rule, anything published after 1923 will require copyright fees. This includes material you find on the internet. For more information, see CIT's copyright policy site, which provides a list of internet resources on copyright policy and law.

Once you have assembled your resources, you need to fill out a request form, available at the bookstore, so that we can begin our work. On that form, you will need to provide us with information such as ISBN, publisher, and number of pages to be copied. If you have questions about the particulars, see the request form links below.
