Two identical, optional worship services are held in Dimnent Chapel on the morning of Commencement.
The 2016 Baccalaureate speaker will be the Rev. Jeffrey S. Allen of Littleton, Colorado, who is senior pastor of Faith Community Church in Littleton and a member of the college’s Board of Trustees.
Services are at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and typically last about an hour.
Graduation candidates wear caps and gowns and sit together as a class. Line up at the DeWitt flagpole by 9 a.m. for the first service and 11 a.m. for the second service.
Graduation candidates do not need tickets.
Guest ticket update
Due to higher-than-anticipated demand and a larger graduating class than is typical, guest tickets for both baccalaureate services are sold out. However, seats are being held for graduates who wish to attend a service. Graduates must indicate which service they are attending on their ticket order form.
On the day of the services some seats may become available; guests are welcome to check in with ushers at the chapel to inquire about open seats. If you have guest tickets that you do not need or would be willing to give up, please return them so we can make them available for others.
Both services will be live streaming at hope.edu/live and can be watched on computers and most mobile devices, and we'll also be showing it in Winants Auditorium in Graves Hall, immediately adjacent to Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
