The CrossRoads Scholarships

The CrossRoads Scholarships are designed for young people who will become the new leaders of the diverse, multicultural church of the future. They are intended for incoming freshmen (current high school seniors that have applied and been accepted for admission to Hope College) who are considering careers in ministry, whether that be as pastors, teachers, youth ministers, social workers, or musicians. Students chosen for these scholarships will demonstrate a strong interest in multicultural or ethnically diverse ministry and a sense of call to lead and serve the church in some capacity once they graduate. They should also have a desire to actively participate in the life of Hope College while they are students.

If you have ever thought (even a little bit) that you might be interested in doing some kind of ministry in a multicultural or racially diverse community, you are eligible to apply for this program. It offers significant tuition assistance (up to a full scholarship, depending on need), and is a four-year renewable scholarship.

In addition to receiving a monetary award, CrossRoads Scholars will gather together periodically for conversation about faith, ministry, and diversity. While this is an important part of the program, it will not be overly time-consuming.

Scholarships are available for incoming freshmen who have been accepted for admission to Hope College for the Fall 2007.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Therefore, once you have been admitted to hope, apply as soon as possible.

Interviews may be scheduled for finalists.

Applications must be postmarked by Friday, February 15, 2008.

Recipients of the scholarship will have the opportunity to meet with other awardees throughout their time here at Hope.

Printable application for students and a handout (PDF) for the writer of your recommendation letter.
