Hope CSI: Student Volunteers
The Creative Science Intiative is strongly dependent on Hope College students. Our students come from varied backgrounds, both socially and academically, and are our greatest asset in putting on interactive science shows, or helping out in the classroom with activity kits.
Keegan Hartman |
|
Keegan is currently a sophomore at Hope College majoring in Elementary Education and Fine Arts Composite. He is now calls home Ithaca, MI, but originally hails from Kansas. Keegan decided to come to Hope because he loves the atmosphere and all of the opportunities available in the Education department. He loves to hang out in his dorm room and around Hope's beautiful campus. When he's not just hanging out, he plays wall-e-ball and tennis and his guitar. Keegan enjoys Holland because there are so many things to do and it is so close to the beach! Keegan hopes to someday teach 3rd to 5th grade somewhere in Colorado. |
Heather Thompson |
|
Heather is currently a sophomore at Hope college majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math. She has spent most of her life up in gorgeous Petoskey, MI but is originally from Smithfield, VA. Hope College's people and the general atmosphere are what drew Heather here. She loves hanging out with her friends, wherever that may be. When she gets the chance, she like to bake and enjoy Holland's downtown and the beaches. An interesting tidbit about Heather is that she can wiggle her nose like a rabbit! When she graduates, Heather will become the first person on her mom's side of the family to graduate from a co-ed college, rather than the all men or all women colleges attended by the rest of the family! When she does graduate, she plans to teach elementary school. |
Brittany Melpolder |
 |
| Brittany is a freshman Elementary Science Composite major at Hope College.
Just recently she moved from Camden, North Carolina to Hamilton, MI. As it seems with most students at Hope, the atmosphere of campus, and the friendliness of the people was a big draw for Brittany.
In addition, she loves the spiritual aspect of the college and how the professors really care about the students. Brittany loves going to the Kletz (snack bar and just a great student hang out) and also enjoys downtown Holland, the shopping and spending time at a local coffee shop...JPs. When she gets a chance, she likes to scrapbook, swim, tutor and sing.
Brittany is actively involved in Relay for Life as a member of the Holland Relay for Life Committee and in the Dance Marathon at Hope. Brittany hopes to settle in the Grand Rapids or Hamilton area to teach first grade
and raise a family (with 4 children!). |
