Amy, Age 14

amyAmy had Leukemia, AML, a very aggressive form of leukemia usually seen in adults. She had numerous complications during treatment and we were told she probably would not survive. She did, God answered many prayers in the affirmative, however, she was left with daily seizures, a leaning disability and a limb length discrepancy.

She is still cancer free even though we stopped all treatment after 4 months because she was too ill to continue. God has been so good to us throughout this ordeal—He has sent many wonderful people to us for encouragement.Amy is now 14 years old and has three siblings, Abbie, 15, Sarah, 12, and Ellie, 10. Her parents Allan and Stephanie say Amy likes watching movies, doing crafts, and playing simple games. She loves funny things. As a family, they like to go swimming. Amy participates in Special Olympics for swimming, boating and tubing.

“ Amy always mentions how happy Emily Blauw is even though she can’t walk. Thank you to Emily for inspiring my daughter to be joyful in all situations! We love your smile. May God give you strength everyday.” –Stephanie
